Strain Gauge Amplifiers:
Available from AEP are the TA series of strain gauge amplifiers. These compliment our more basic amplifier systems by providing full bridge, easily set up, amplification for strain gauge based transducers. The TA4 provides an analogue output whereas the TA5 has a serial output. These amplifier boards are available as a DIN mounting assembly or built inside an IP65 aluminium box. Up to four 350 Ohm load cells can be connected in parallel for weighing applications, avoiding the use of external junction boxes.
Inertia-Link Systems:
We are pleased to announce the introduction to the MicroStrain range, of the Inertia-Link products. Offered in both wired USB connection sensors and as a wireless system, the Inertia-Link is a high performance Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and Vertical Gyro, utilising MEMS sensor technology. The system includes three orthogonal rate gyroscopes, three orthogonal accelerometers, a microprocessor, data logger, and in the case of the wireless system, an RF transceiver and aerial.
Miniature Pressure Sensors:
TML have introduced to their range of strain gauge pressure transducers, some very small sensors designed for various modelling tests. They are available in 5 ranges up to 3Mpa, and in two different designs, with the picture showing the vertical mount design. The sensors have an integral 4-core 1m cable, for connection to standard strain gauge amplification systems and both can be used safely immersed in water.

Wireless Sensors:
Amongst several new products introduced from the MicroStrain range are their wireless sensors. The V-Link is at the top of the range, offering up to 8 input channels in each wireless node to operate as part of a high-speed wireless sensor network. These devices, as the name implies, provide a wireless link between the connected sensors and a base station, which can be up to 70meters away. Featuring 2 kHz sweep rates, combined with 2 Mbytes flash memory, these little nodes have on board sensor excitation, bridge completion, and programmable gains and offsets.
