John Robertson Ltd was established in 1982 as suppliers of sawn timber from Indonesia and Ghana to the UK and Europe.

As timber production evolved we became pioneers in establishing furniture factories overseas. Processing and quality is approved in the country of origin by our own graders prior to shipping. From this base Teak Tiger, a wholly owned subsidiary, was formed in 1990 to supply furniture and accessories direct to the consumer by mail order.

We opened our UK factory in 1996 and are now nominated suppliers of teak and iroko exterior furniture to many of the UK’s best known chains.

Protecting the environment:

We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously. We guarantee that all timber used in our furniture production comes from renewable sources. We are members of LOFA and the Timber Trades Federation and adhere to their ‘Forests Forever’ Responsible Purchasing Policy.

Bahama Jumberella:

A beautifully engineered parasol for semi-permanent covering of larger areas. The range includes sizes capable of covering from 12 to 36 m2. Tested to withstand up to a force 10 wind the heavy duty structural materials are very resistant to salt laden air and designed to endure many years of active use.

The canopies are available in a wide range of colours with brand printing available as an optional extra. They are easily cleaned and replaced if necessary.

Installation & Service:

All Bahama®Jumbrellas are installed by our fully trained staff. We liaise with contractors on site ensuring that electrical and groundwork services are correctly undertaken.

Light and Heat:

Lights and heaters can be fitted to extend your season even further. Quartz infrared heaters warm people and objects not the air between. They produce the only form of heat that does not blow away. These electric heaters are easy to operate with no need for heavy gas bottles etc.

The Bahama® Jumbrella are connectable in any configuration with guttering to suit all spaces.

Available in a range of sizes the round parasol is available from 4 metres to 7 metres in diameter whilst the square option ranges from 3.5 metres to 5 metres. Rectangular options are also available.

Cantilever Sun Shades & Parasols:

With no central masts our range of cantilevered Sun Shades offers stylish versatility.

The aluminium framed version will withstand a wind of force 5 or 6 depending on the size you choose.

The wooden version is constructed with a hardwearing Iroko frame.

Fabric parasols:

Made from hardwearing Nyatoh timber with brass fittings, the pole is in one piece for greater strength and has a simple double pulley system for raising and lowering the parasol.

The shades are available in three sizes.

The canopies are available in two colours, Natural or Forest Green and are made from spun polyester treated with Teflon® Dupont to protect from both the rain and sun. Air vents help stability in sudden gusts of wind.

Metal bases are available to secure parasols under tables, granite composite bases for freestanding applications and ground fixed anchors for extra security.

Exterior furniture:

From small folding tables, to one capable of seating up to 12 our range has a size or shape to suit all situations.

All our hardwood furniture can be left out all year round.

Awnings & screens:

The "Goal Post" Awning Shelter is a versatile method for covering large areas such as hotel terraces, restaurants and other outdoor public areas.

Capable of covering areas of up to 10 x 7 metres the galvanised steel construction comprises two columns fixed to concrete footings with an awning attached to both sides. If required the frame can be powder coated in other colours as an optional extra.

The Awnings can be opened and retracted using a mechanical handle system or fitted with an electric motor which can be operated by a switch, remotely or using an automatic wind detector.

The Awning fabric is water repellent, colourfast, non-shrink and mould resistant and is available in a wide range of colours. The optional valances can be brand printed as well as the Awning if required.

Lights and Heaters can be supplied for fitting to the Awning if required. Please contact us for further details.

Heating solutions:

Radiant heat is instant and economical, unlike gas heaters where most of the warmth is “blown away”.

Over 85% of the energy used is converted to heat and projected directly through the air to warm only the areas you wish.

No pre-heating required and the elements have a life of up to 5,000 hours.

Suitable for a range of uses inside and out.

Interiors Tiger Loom:

This range possesses the classic smooth Loom look with a new and modern simplicity.

Handmade and built to be virtually indestructible the clean lines and intricately sculpted designs of Lloyd Loom furniture made it an instant classic.

Bistro & cafe America:

This stacking chair and matching armchair offer not only comfort but also strength and style. They have aluminium frames with a beautifully finished beech ply seats. Not suitable for exterior use.

Liceo:

This chair is a must for all who love contemporary furniture. This high quality stacking chair made from solid cast aluminium can be used inside and out. It is also available with a woven FSA seat.

Leisure Teak Tree Seat:

Our hexagonal tree seat fits around the trunk of trees up to 750mm in diameter.

Steamer Chair Our Steamer:

Chairs are made from the finest quality teak and only solid brass and stainless steel fittings are used.
