P & S Weed Control Limited was formed in the mid 1990's to provide a high quality contract spraying and vegetation management service to the industrial, amenity and utility sectors.

The P & S weed Control service is designed to compliment your existing grounds maintenance staff and save them valuable time and resources in the battle to control weeds.

A property programmed series of herbicide applications can reduce maintenance costs in such areas as broken up tarmac and concrete, as well as gravelled areas and shrubberies, therefore improving the overall appearance of your site.

All our staff are fully trained and certificated and all the pesticides we use are approved under tight EU legislation and are safe to use in public areas.

Total residual herbicide application

Normally carried out during late winter/early spring with approved residual herbicides to hold back the growth of weeds from between 2-6 months, depending on product, although this can be carried at any time of year.

Total non residual herbicide application

Using contact translocated herbicides, such as glyphosate, this operation is normally designed to eradicate existing weeds in such situations as ornamental shrubberies or street pavements.

Selective herbicide application

Designed to eradicate broadleaved weeds in grass and turf and normally carried out during spring and summer.

Grass growth retardation

This operation is normally designed for areas and situations where strimming or mowing is difficult, such as grass banks, and would usually involve 2 or 3 spray applications of growth retardant, sometimes applied in conjunction with a selective herbicide.

Worm control

A useful tool in the eradication of worm casts from such situations as golf course fairways, bowling greens and sports pitches. This would normally be carried out during autumn/winter.

Leatherjacket control

Again usually applied during autumn /winter to help prevent root damage from grubs, which in turn reduces the damage caused by large birds trying to dig them up.

Liquid fertiliser application

We can apply liquid fertiliser to your golf course or sports fields etc, using the latest available products which can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of your particular turf and/or soil type.

Moss control

Moss and algae can often cause problems in such situations as pathways, flat roofs, tennis courts and synthetic sports surfaces including retaining dampness and causing a slip hazard. We can plan a series of applications of a mossicide or algaecide which can include a pre application cleaning of the area with a high pressure washer.

Aquatic weed control

P & S Weed Control Limited have many years experience of dealing with aquatic weed problems and have the necessary qualifications and specialised equipment to carry out the work safely and efficiently. We are in regular contact with the Environment Agency and can arrange all the necessary permits required to carry out pesticide application in or near water on your behalf.

Grain Store Fumigation

P & S Weed Control also offer a grain store fumigation service using the latest techniques for eradicating grain weevil, including the use of phosphine gas methods. We have specially trained and certificated staff for these procedures and can tailor a programme of treatments based on your own requirements.
