Achieve cost savings, improve staff management and gain powerful management information

Ulysses' systems have helped many organisations realise significant time and cost savings.  Each case is analysed individually and he software streamlined to match requirements and give maximum benefit.

For example, on assessing a department in a well known hospital we established a considerable number of senior person hours were being used to develop and administer staff rotas.  We analysed each activity, and identified savings of up to 8 person days per month based on a workforce of 200 (full time and part time).

The following efficiencies have been shown to be achievable in real situations:

  • Turnkey

Over the past 8 years, the market has become more and more in demand for an in-house Time and Attendance system. Other than the Telephone Clock In system, Ulysses provides an alternative especially designed for in-house time and attendance. Timekey. Timekey is widely used as a time and attendance system for Care Homes especially. How it works is, it is a module that sits on the wall, and we provide you with key fobs that the machine uses, the user would then swipe their key fob on the system, and press the button according to their direction (In - Out).  Simple!

    Key Features:-

    • Small and Compact - the system is self-contained and can be wall mounted
    • Easy Connectivity - it links to any PC via a cable or via a Wireless Radio Network
    • Provides electronic time sheets - saves 80% of Office work *
    • Uses a Crystal as its Clock - so it is accurate to 1 second per month (the system is aware of Daylight Savings Time)
    • Uses Flash Memory - so it keeps is memory even when a power cut has occurred
    • It can hold up to several thousand swipes a month - no need to download weekly!
    • Monitors Absence and Lateness - the system knows when someone is late *
    • Payroll can be automatically calculated based on actual start and end times *
    • Basic module consists of Magnetic or Barcode swipe systems
    • Advanced module consists of an I-Button

    * N.B if used in conjunction with Rota+

    • Timelog

Ulysses has been working on systems for time and attendance now for over 8 years, and we were pioneers in linking clock card systems into PC systems. Our very first product was, believe it or not, a DOS-based system for the local power station in Didcot!

  • In 2001, we introduced several options for time and attendance for Domicilary Care, supplied by third parties, such as Telecarer and CM2000. We set about designing an interface to these products, which is now called TIMELINK

In 2002/3, we started designing our own modem-based Dialogic card system.

Dialogic is the industry-standard Intel subsidiary.  We also purchased a company (Roster-IT Ltd) which specialised in industrial products and had the resources to develop a more sophisticated solution.

Working with Keratome, All Day Care, Caring Co and others, the result in 2005 is Timelog Version 6 , which has some pretty amazing features.

    TIMELOG

Timelog is based on a Dialogic 4-channel system, that sits on its own PC, which can play messages and record calls by location and carer ID. There are numerous features with this system, such as:-

Rapid Call processing:- The system recognises caller ID and asks for a carer PIN. It then asks for a direction (in or out). The entire call is processed in < 12 seconds

Alarms and Alerts:- The system can alarm for no-show, or alert for late or early running.

SMS Texting:- Sophisticated messages warn field-based co-ordinators about no-shows and late arrivals

Critical and Standard Care:- Alarms are triggered by the actual shift:- meaning that you are not alerted for anything that does not need monitoring.

Lone Worker Support:- A key parameter of the current version is to be able to protect Lone Workers by sending the administrator an alarm if they do not confirm their arrival home after a days work.  This can be a major factor in getting staff to accept the system.

Pays for itself:- Clients have been able to reduce their operating costs significantly over the period by using the automatic call confirmation system. When you consider that around 95% of calls are automatically confirmed, that admin cost simply disappears! And given that a typical system costs <£5,000, the capital payback would be well within the year!

With TIMELOG, users can have a truly independent system that offers cost-efficient application. We can show how applying Timelog reduces operating costs still further and provides reliable confirmation for both private and social services clients.

    TELELINK

Ulysses also has the systems to support independant care companies with solutions that dovetail in to Social Services Requirements, while at the same time ensuring independence.

With TELELINK, we can send to and receive from any provider of central systems (such as CM2000 and Telecarer, and EzTracker). We are committed to design links for every major supplier of these systems and are in active consultation with many manufacturers.

Telelink is constantly being updated – for example the CM2000 link will be 2-way in April 2005, and SQL-compliant in June.

Telelink can greatly simplify things when Social Services need you to send and receive data from their central system.  And Ulysses can provide you with the link into 7 for just a few hundred pounds!
