Our Mission at First Stop Safety is to make life easier for people trying to meet Health and Safety Regulations.
With a 19 year proven track record, we aim to provide information and products particularly for people who have been ‘volunteered’ to look after this area as well as manage other job responsibilities.
We provide general advice, formal training and a range of equipment to buy or rent. The main areas we cover are below, with our brand new training facility here at York launched in July 2007 we are continually adding to our range.

PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing)

In order to ensure the safety of staff and visitors, it is important to have a scheme of inspection and testing for all electrical appliances in the workplace. We have a range of training and simple-to-use equipment for carrying out the tests yourself.

Controlling Noise at Work

First Stop Safety provide training and equipment to help you understand and comply with the  Controlling Noise at Work Regulations that came in to force in April 2006. In addition to distance learning and one day workshops, we also sell and rent high quality Sound Measuring Equipment and Audiometers.

Lone Worker Products

Although there is no general legal prohibition on working alone, lone workers should not be at more risk than other employees. Precautions should take account of foreseeable emergencies, e.g. fire, equipment failure, illness and accidents. First Stop Safety provide a range of equipment that will meet the needs of an employer looking to comply in this area.

Anti RSI products

Modern working life in an office dictates that we spend a lot of time sitting down and working on PCs. Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) or other types of Musculo-skeletal disorders are a real issue. First Stop Safety provide a range of products that provide physical support and can form part of your training policy in this area
