TelGuard revolutionised the door and gate entry industry with its telephone based intercom concept in 1992. The system utilises the existing ‘BT’ phone network, allowing residents to answer calls from an entrance on their own household telephone or mobile phone. To open the door or gate the resident simply presses ‘#’ on their telephone.

Since this time we have several thousand systems installed all over Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe. Sites include blocks of flats, offices, housing developments, stately homes, business centres, remote barriers, sheltered accommodation, schools, universities, hospitals and help points.

Due to the introduction and success of TelGuard, a niche marketplace 10 years ago is now established and expanding rapidly.

A large reason for the success of the TelGuard product is due to the fact that it is modular. This means that not only is installation simple, but any fault is quickly diagnosed. There are only four areas where a system fault can occur; power supply, telephone connection, interface or the TelGuard itself. If the TelGuard is diagnosed as faulty, it can simply be replaced by unplugging the power supply unit, telephone lead and interface. It is then just a case of plugging in a replacement. How simple!
