Leading UK display technology enabler GPEG today signed a partnership agreement with novel touch technology company Sensitive Object in Paris, France. The deal sees GPEG introducing this technology to the UK market in the form of Sensitive Objects touch panels, these unique touch products are based on the patented 'ART', Acoustic Recognition Technology.
In addition to the distribution of the ‘SOTM’ standard products, currently ranging in size from 15” to 19” GPEG will also be seeking opportunities to embed this technology into its own range of touch monitors and OEM products for introduction to markets such as gaming, kiosks and home automation.
“It’s amazing when you first see a demonstration”, comments Nick How, CEO GPEG International Ltd, ''the system works with two embedded sensors that listen to, and decode, acoustic touches on the surface of glass of almost unlimited size. The system is immune to dust, water and scratches will work with both fingers and a stylus and overcome all of the traditional drawbacks of other touch technologies. Combined with SO’s aggressive pricing policy as they enter the market, we expect a very fast take up in all the applications we are targeting”.
Olivier Berrouiguet, Sales Director at Sensitive Object agrees,” as well as finding the best distribution partner in GPEG, we believe we have found a well aligned professional team of sales engineers that will add value to Sensitive Object as we enter the market along multiple channels. We look forward very much to working together with GPEG's team to bring the benefits of Sensitive Touch technology into the UK and beyond”
