Until now, the hospitality industry has only had polyester to choose from when selecting staff uniforms. As a hardwearing fibre, it offers value for money, won’t go up in flames (though hopefully that is an unnecessary added bonus) and doesn’t wrinkle easily (a very necessary added bonus). It is used to make everything from clothing, bottles and tarpaulin to Sunseekers and Rolls Royce cars. As clothing, the only thing letting it down is that it isn’t the most comfortable or breathable of materials but when you need a fabric that to withstand humid conditions, product spillages and constant kneeling and kneading, even if it not the most comfortable, it is certainly the most practical- or at least it has been until now.
Uniform designer, Fashionizer has just launched the UK’s first natural fabric and organic spa uniform collection onto the market to provide the hospitality industry with a more comfortable alternative. Fashionizer told AJP Online that their hospitality clients suddenly began to ask for cotton spa uniforms, in keeping with our cultural movement towards the natural and sustainable, Fashionizer therefore spent 18 months developing an exclusive Cotton Performance fabric with its European mills.
The aim was to provide spa uniform wearers with all day comfort and the feeling of freshness. The cotton and organic cotton range developed has as a result a very limited amount of other fabrics weaved into it, allowing maximum breath ability.
Director of Fashionizer, Debbie Leon adds, “We are delighted with the overwhelmingly positive response to the collection! It’s clear that natural fabrics have been long awaited by many in the spa and beauty industry. Our contemporary styles in earthy colours and cool, natural, fibres are a genuine breath of fresh air. “
Fashionizer Spa’s organic cotton has also been approved by the Futura Association and has been produced with the environment in mind.
